LEGO en Epic Games kondigen samenwerking aan

Zet de volgende samenwerking tussen LEGO en een extern bedrijf maar op het verder groeiende lijstje. In een persbericht kondigen LEGO en Epic games hun nieuwe en langdurige samenwerking aan. Het doel is om het metaverse, een netwerk aan digitale werelden waar mensen samen komen, verder vorm te geven en dit op een veilige manier voor kinderen en families.

Middels een persbericht hebben LEGO en Epic Games aangekondigd een samenwerking te zijn begonnen. Met het oog op de toekomst is deze samenwerking van lange duur en willen ze samen het metaverse verder uitbreiden. Het metaverse is als het ware een netwerk van digitale (spel)werelden waar mensen samen komen en contact met elkaar hebben. Samen willen ze een digitale geëngageerde, creatieve en inspirerende ervaring bouwen voor kinderen en families. Natuurlijk willen ze dat dit voor iedereen veilig en toegankelijk is. Hoe dit er in de toekomst precies zal uitzien is voor nu nog onduidelijk. Het volledige persbericht kan je hieronder lezen.

Epic games staat voornamelijk bekend voor hun Unreal Engine, software dat voor de aandrijving van heel wat games zorgt. Ook staan ze bekend voor hun immens populaire game Fortnite. Gezien de langdurige samenwerking, is het maar de vraag hoe ver ze hier mee zullen gaan. Zullen we in de toekomst sets zien gebaseerd op games van Epic Games of van videogames aangedreven door hun Unreal Engine? Gezien de geruchten over een LEGO Gaming thema en sets zoals LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone en de LEGO 76989 Horizon Forbidden West Tallneck, kan het zowaar mogelijk zijn. We zullen het ongetwijfeld nog zien wat deze samenwerking tussen LEGO en Epic Games teweeg zal brengen.

LEGO Rebuild the World & Ninjago Tin Signs verkrijgbaar voor VIP leden

Voor wie LEGO sets verzamelt en daar graag unieke items aan toevoegt, kan de verzameling uitbreiden met twee nieuwe LEGO VIP Tin Signs. De twee nieuwe LEGO VIP Tin Signs zijn verkrijgbaar via het LEGO VIP beloningscentrum.

De twee tinnen bordjes zijn te bestellen via het LEGO VIP beloningscentrum, kosten 1200 punten per stuk (omgerekend €8) en hebben een formaat van 300mm x 150mm. De bordjes zijn te bestellen zolang de voorraad strekt. Let wel op dat de codes die je krijgt binnen 60 dagen verzilverd moet worden en dat je maar één beloning per bestelling kan toevoegen.

Enige tijd geleden voegde LEGO ook een LEGO Friends en LEGO City Tin Sign toe aan het beloningscentrum. Deze bordjes zijn vooralsnog beschikbaar voor wie ze nog niet heeft. Met de toevoeging van de nieuwe bordjes, is de kans groot dat LEGO in de nabije toekomst meer varianten uit gaan brengen. Zodra dit het geval is zullen we dat melden.

LEGO Architecture 4000038 LEGO Campus onthuld tijdens opening

Na vijf jaar bouwen aan een nieuwe LEGO Campus in Billund, is de laatste steen gelegd. Tijdens de grote opening had The LEGO Group (TLG) een leuke verrassing gepland staan. Het personeel dat tewerkgesteld wordt op de nieuwe Campus hebben namelijk een LEGO Architecture 4000038 LEGO Campus set als cadeau gekregen! Meer over deze set en de grote opening kan je hier lezen.

Tijdens de opening van het LEGO Campus, de nieuwe thuisbasis en centrum van creativiteit voor zo’n 2000 personeelsleden, is een nieuwe set onthuld. Wegens de grote opening had TLG een leuke verrassing gepland voor de mensen die daar tewerkgesteld zijn. Verschillende personeelsleden deelden via social media dat ze een LEGO Architecture 4000038 LEGO Campus als cadeau gekregen hebben. Het is niet de eerste keer dat TLG een set uitbrengt van een nieuwe campus, maar het blijft desalniettemin een mooi gebaar. Meer over de nieuwe LEGO Campus kan je hieronder bekijken.

De set valt onder het Architecture thema en bevat 1494 onderdelen. Hoewel de set dezelfde indeling heeft als een 18+ set, draagt het een ander leeftijdslabel. Doordat de set aan personeelsleden is weggegeven, is het zo goed als zeker dat de set niet officieel verkrijgbaar zal zijn. Zoals wel vaker het geval vinden deze sets hun weg naar allerhande verkoopkanalen. Mocht je ze daar vinden, kunnen verzamelaars ze alsnog – mits de hoofdprijs – op de kop tikken.

Opening van de nieuwe LEGO Campus

Het heeft zo’n vijf jaar geduurd, maar het LEGO Campus is eindelijk klaar. Het is de nieuwe werkplek voor zo’n 2000 personeelsleden en moet het centrum van creativiteit worden. Het LEGO Campus is ongeveer 54.000 vierkante meter groot en is de thuisbasis voor personeel van over de hele wereld. Met de LEGO gedachtegang in het achterhoofd is het kantoor zo ontwikkeld dat er plaats is voor verbeelding, plezier, creativiteit, zorgzaamheid, inclusiviteit en bovenal kwaliteit. Er is volop ingezet in een flexibele werkomgeving en is er plaats voor de nodige ontspanning. Met de verduurzaming binnen de TLG is er tijdens de constructie hier heel wat aandacht aan besteed. BILLUND, DENMARK, April 5th, 2022.: After five years of construction and planning, the LEGO Group is celebrating the official opening of its state-of-the-art Campus at its headquarters in Billund, Denmark today. Designed by C.F. Møller Architects, the campus spans 54,000 square metres, creating an innovative workplace for approx. 2000 colleagues, and a home away from home for all LEGO Group colleagues across the world.

Reflecting the LEGO Group values of ‘Imagination, Fun, Creativity, Caring, Learning, and Quality’, the Campus has been designed to provide a playful, inclusive, and collaborative environment that enables employees to develop the best play experiences for children all over the world.

An important element in LEGO® Campus is the ‘People House’ a concept developed in close collaboration with employees that provides a space for all colleagues to network and play during and after working hours. With initial designs first developed in 2014, the ‘People House’ is just one of the many features across the campus that enables a more flexible environment to work and play and is reflective of the hybrid working style that is in place across the LEGO Group. Created as a place for relaxation, inspiration and recharging, the ‘People House’ features facilities including: a state-of-the-art fitness studio, creative workshop space, a LEGO homestay for visiting employees, a cinema, outside park and activity zone, kitchen for communal cooking and networking and a health clinic. Employees’ families are also welcome to use the facilities.

Creating a sustainable workplace Sustainability is a focus for the LEGO Group, and this has been central to the design of the new Campus. Achieving a Gold level LEED certification, the Campus is a high quality, low-energy office building partly powered by solar panels installed on the roof of the nearby parking facility.

In addition, the Campus also features:

Special gypsum fibreboard – which saved 650,000 kg of emissions during construction, additionally 1000 tons of construction waste was recycled during the construction process
Sedum plants on roof surfaces collecting rainwater which irrigates the surrounding green spaces
Workplace waste is sorted into 10 different categories
Flexible and open workspaces with “green” partitions of plants and planters
All outdoor furniture was made from waste LEGO Bricks. 5000 kg of LEGO waste has been recycled.
A focus on biodiversity with a wealth of indigenous plants, trees and natural environments planted to support wildlife

LEGO Campus will officially open from April 5th for all LEGO colleagues and their families. Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the LEGO group has grown from a small carpenter’s workshop to a brand present in more than 130 countries worldwide.

LEGO Jurassic World 76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack

Via de Duitse webshop Brick-X-Treme hebben we zicht gekregen op nog een andere Jurassic World set. De LEGO Jurassic World 76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack is de grootste van deze jaargang en bevat twee grote dinosaurussen. De set zal vanaf 17 april verkrijgbaar zijn.

Nog een set gebaseerd op de Jurassic World films maakt zijn opwachting. Via Brick-X-Treme, een Duitse webshop, hebben we zicht gekregen op de LEGO Jurassic World 76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack set. De set zal waarschijnlijk hoge ogen gooien door de toevoeging van twee nieuwe dinosaurussen, waaronder de Giganotosaurus en de Therizinosaurus. Hiernaast valt er een deel van een basis te bouwen en bevat de set een mooie selectie van zes Minifigures. De LEGO Jurassic World 76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack zal net zoals de andere sets verkrijgbaar zijn vanaf 17 april. Het aantal onderdelen is nog niet bekend, maar zou deze set een verkoopadviesprijs krijgen van €129,99.

Naast deze set zullen er binnenkort nog tal van andere Jurassic World sets verschijnen. In het LEGO Jurassic World 2022 sets overzicht kan je alle aankomende sets bekijken, inclusief bijbehorende afbeeldingen en informatie. Deze zullen allemaal vanaf 17 april beschikbaar zijn.

LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga vanaf nu beschikbaar

In juni 2019 hebben Warner Bros. Games en LEGO, de LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga aangekondigd. De game zal voor de vorige en huidige generatie consoles en de pc verschijnen en omvat alle negen Star Wars films. We hebben er dus even op moeten wachten, maar de game is sinds vandaag beschikbaar voor de verschillende platforms.

De LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is vanaf vandaag beschikbaar voor de verschillende platforms. De game is beschikbaar voor de consoles (zowel voor de vorige als de huidige generatie) en pc (Steam). Mocht je niet goed weten wat de game precies inhoudt, kan je hieronder meer info vinden en verschillende trailers bekijken .

Er zijn vier versies beschikbaar: twee digitale en twee fysieke versies. De normale edities bevatten enkel de game, de overige edities komen met digitale of fysieke extra’s. Verzamelaars zullen gegarandeerd voor de (fysieke) Deluxe Edition gaan waar een Blue Milk Luke Skywalker Minifigure en extra content aan toegevoegd is.

LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga – Alles over de game

De game zal gebaseerd zijn op de volledige Skywalker Saga. Dat betekent dat de negen films die zijn verschenen na te spelen zijn. Dit gaat natuurlijk gepaard met de kenmerkende LEGO humor en het vrijspelen van 300 karakters. Gezien de game alle negen films omvat, kun je er vanuit gaan dat het een enorme game wordt.

Het is mogelijk om het verhaal van begin tot einde te spelen, maar je kunt er ook voor kiezen om jouw favoriete Star Wars film of op een bepaalde planeet te spelen. Met andere woorden, jij bent zelf baas over in welke volgorde je de game speelt. Heb je alle verhaallijnen uitgespeeld, dan zijn er nog legio extra’s om te verzamelen en vrij te spelen.

Bij het kopen van de game heb de keuze uit de normale of de Deluxe Edition (digitale versie niet meegenomen). De LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Edition is voor verzamelaars extra interessant en bevat een exclusieve Luke Skywalker Minifigure, downloadbare content voor de game en een *slipcover. Met de slipcover onthul je het gezicht van Darth Vader.

LEGO Ideas Antique Cash Register bereikt 10K supporters

Dit LEGO Ideas Antique Cash Register project heeft de 10K supporters bereikt. De inzending is een weergave van het National Cash Register Model 452 uit de 19de eeuw. Het is als het ware de grondlegger voor het moderne kassasysteem dat we vandaag de dag kennen.

Het National Cash Register Model 452 werd eind 19de eeuw ontworpen en was het de grondlegger voor het kassasysteem dat we op vandaag kennen. Het luidde hierdoor een volledig nieuwe tijdperk in voor de (klein)handel. Dit LEGO Ideas Antique Cash Register is hierop gebaseerd en bevat het heel wat werkende functies. De verschillende toetsen kunnen bediend worden en de geldlade kan geopend worden. De opvallende gouden kleuren in combinatie met de verschillende texturen zorgen voor een model waar je haast niet naast kan kijken! Met zo’n 2565 onderdelen kan je deze kassa bouwen in LEGO. Het project van fan-designer Dimexart heeft met het bereiken van de nodige supporters zich in de eerste reviewronde van 2022 geplaatst.
